Rainbow Connect is a personal web project established in Christchurch, New Zealand to fill a need for a central LGBTQIA+ information hub covering all of New Zealand. I found lots of various sources of information all over the interwebs, but there was nothing that connects it all into one comprehensive and cohesive directory.

So, I began building a nationwide directory featuring listings for events, businesses, community groups, property including flatmates wanted, as well as a classified listing service where you can sell or buy anything at all.

The site operates on a shoestring budget and the service is kept going primarily by personal input from the founder and graciously received donations. There is still a lot of work to do but if you think we are doing something useful for the New Zealand rainbow community please donate to us to help us on our mission and to help cover our costs.

Alternatively LGBTQIA+ owned or friendly businesses, groups and other organisations are encouraged to claim their listings on our site, we offer very affordable packages which will help keep the site running and also allow you to maintain and update your own listing. If you’re running events for the community you can list them here and we offer basic listings through to listings with a full ticketing service.
